Slight Regret

As excited as I am to be heading off to college in a few days, I do sort of wish that I took a gap year.

This option occurred to me when my mom jokingly said my dad may as well have left me stranded in the Chinese airport if I’m going to be taking Chinese in college.

And that’s kind of true. Instead of wasting classes to learn Chinese, I could’ve gotten that out of the way in a gap year and returned home, fluent. My dad said he could have put me in contact with one of his business connections in Shanghai and I could have interned there…

But that’s okay. Still stiggity stoked for Carleton.
